Eloquent Statues/Queer Voices is a poetry reading taking place at 5:00PM every other Thursday at Giovanni’s Room (@patatgiovannisroom on Instagram) in Philadelphia. The reading is set up as an open mic, giving poets 5 minutes on the mic to share their work. Poets can sell their book sat the counter at any of the readings!

There is a $5 suggested donation to support Giovanni’s Room, and the reading will be live-streamed on the host’s Instagram (@the.apocalypse.poet).

Hosted by Noah David Roberts (they/them), this poetry reading seeks to provide a space for queer and innovative poets to read their poems in an atmosphere that is unpretentious, non-competitive, and community oriented. Noah plans to change the landscape of poetry readings in Philadelphia, welcoming established voices, brilliant poets, those who want a community of writers, first-timers, and everyone in between.

Poets who attend the first of this series on the 15th of September will be presented the opportunity to have their work shared in a zine that the host will put together after the event.
